Sharing Christ

As Christians, sharing the gospel message should be something we do as naturally as breathing, both in word and in action. This litany encourages us to share Christ daily with all those we meet.

Leader: Eternal God, you give us a guide for our lives in your Word.

All: Love the Lord your God with all your heart,

Women: with all your soul,

Men: with all your mind,

All: and with all your strength.

Leader: In Deuteronomy 6 you command us to write your laws on our hearts

Women: and to impress them on our children, and talk about them when we sit at home

Men: or when we walk along the road, when we lie down and when we get up.

All: Help us, Lord, as we share you fully with our families.

Leader: In Isaiah 40 you command us to share the Good News of salvation:

Women: You who bring good news to Zion, go up on a high mountain.

Men: You who bring good news to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with a shout.

Leader: Lift it up, do not be afraid; say to the towns of Judah, “Here is your God!”

All: Help us, Lord, as we share you fully with those we meet at work and in our neighborhoods.

Leader: In Isaiah 61 you command us to share the Good News through our deeds of mercy:

Women: The spirit of the sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.

Men: He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release the prisoner from darkness.

All: Help us, Lord, as we share you fully with those whose needs are great.

Leader: So, as the early church demonstrated, we ask for your Spirit so we will “never stop teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ.”

All: Help us, Lord, as we share you until everyone on earth fully reflects you.
