News and Notes

RW Goes Online

In case you missed the announcement in RW 80, all past issues of Reformed Worship are now available online at www.reformedworship.org—though without the music and art you’ll find in the print magazine. Beginning with this issue, only subscribers will be able to access the latest issue. You’ll find log-in information on the inside front cover of each issue.

Audio Links for Psalter Hymnal and Sing! A New Creation

Since we’ve updated our website, we’ve heard from many of our readers who want to know where to find the audio links for the songs included in these two songbooks.

Here’s how to find them: visit www.FaithAliveResources.org and search for “Psalter audio” or “Sing audio.”

Worship Renewal Grants

The Calvin Institute of Christian Worship is again grateful to be able to award worship renewal grants through the generous support of the Lilly Endowment, Inc. The purpose of these grants is to stimulate relevant, thoughtful, and energetic work for worship that exhibits renewed creativity and theological integrity and is available to Christian churches of diverse sizes and denominations. For more information on the grant process, types of grants awarded, and for an application form, visit www.calvin.edu/worship. Proposals for 2007 must be postmarked by January 10, 2007.

Visual Arts Resources

Visuals for Worship

by Elizabeth Steele Halstead
This book combines woodcut images of Christian symbols with their theological and historical background, along with biblical references that provide additional fodder for worship planning. Not only is the book beautiful to look at, it also includes a CD of all the artwork with permission to use the woodcut images in bulletins, video projection presentations, on posters, and so on. Available from Faith Alive Christian Resources. Call 1-800-333-8300 or visit www.FaithAliveResources.org.

Word Pictures for Worship

by Timothy R. Botts

Many people have long admired the expressive calligraphy of Timothy Botts, found in many of his published collections and also on the cover of RW 71 (March 2001). Botts now has more than 200 Bible verses done in calligraphy available in color at 72 dpi. This makes them suitable for projection in worship services but not for print reproduction. The CD is available directly from him for $200. To order, send a check made out to Tim Botts at 367 Oak Street, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137. Allow 7-10 days for delivery. For archival prints of Botts’s work, please visit www.inkwellgreetings.com.

Job Postings

Though RW does not include job postings, our ministry partner, the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship, has begun to provide this service. If you are looking for a position in a worship-related field, go to www.calvin.edu/worship/job. If you would like to post a position, go to that same web address to find the guidelines for this service. Job postings for worship positions within the PCUSA are also listed at www.pcusa.org/pam.
