Dr. David Rylaarsdam is professor of the history of Christianity and worship at Calvin Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan. began his teaching career at Smith Memorial Bible College in Nigeria, and since has taught at the University of Notre Dame, Dordt College, Missional Training Center (Phoenix), Calvin Prison Initiative, and Calvin Seminary. He has also served a variety of churches as interim pastor and received missionary training in Mexico City. He holds degrees from Dordt University (BA) Calvin Theological Seminary (MDiv), and University of Notre Dame (MA, PhD).

The love of God has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us” (Rom. 5:5). By pouring love for God into our hearts, the Spirit gathers and forms a new community.
