Testimonies of our faith that Jesus alone is our Savior, can be given in many different ways and at many different times. In some traditions these opportunities are referred to as “altar calls.” In others there are formal ceremonies called a profession of faith or confirmation which frequently involve a prolonged period of preparation and mark the entry of an individual into the full life of a church. Informal, spontaneous opportunities to testify to our beliefs can be given as a response to a sermon or to an invitation to reflect on where people have seen God in their work or their everyday life. Such testimonies can be verbalized, written, or expressed creatively. Whatever form they take, these moments in our spiritual journey are a testament to the fact that God has remained faithful to the promises God made at our baptism and should be a natural part of our life together.
